My favorite movie for as long as I can remember. At one point, I had the first half memorized word for word and the songs play in my head CONSTANTLY!!!!

two con men being mistaken for gods. this premise alone CAPTIVATED me as a kid. it felt like i was discovering a new world.

The first anime I ever watched before I knew what anime even was. I sat on the floor of my bedroom with my 2 friends and we laughed so hard we pissed ourselves.

Honestly one of the best moments ever and something I try to connect with when I’m having trouble finding a show I enjoy. The laugher and connection I mean. Not the pissing.
Sometimes we are ALL Rebecca bunch. I have to be careful who I talk to about this show, “Crazy ex girlfriend’ plus “musical show” really doesn’t start you off on a strong foot with new people but if that catches your interest PLEASEEEEE WATCH IT!

I don’t think my thoughts on this show can fix in a single text box but let me try.

o Best. Plot twist. Ever.

I didn’t expect to enjoy the second person writing as much as I did but Jemisin’s writing is so immersive, the writing fades so easily into a description of the scene with you in the very center. I could pick up this book anywhere and fall right back in as though I read it all in one sitting.
Cried like three different times during this book.

it’s a beautifully nuanced book exploring the ways family and tradition both help and hinder a community.
if i could erase my mind and re-read this book, i would in an INSTANT
I love the perspectives from the mother and son, it gives so much depth to the world. The mother’s backstory chapters feel like a whole other novel, which it was a whole other life for her, it SHOULD feel like a full story.
Yeah, it’s the second book in the series but I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

The whole series is fun and Lila/Kell is one of the few romance plotlines that I don’t get annoyed with. But this book raises the stakes so well AND brings in Alucard!!!! Love alucard.
the third book is a bit dense, but this is such a perfect expansion of the first book’s story. And the MAGIC TOURNAMENT is awesome.
